A post on platform X (formerly Twitter) uploaded by the account @Fatima_Khatun01 has stirred up netizens. In the post, the user made a shocking claim that Indian-born international preacher Zakir Naik had been diagnosed with AIDS in Malaysia.

“Islamic preacher Zakir Naik diagnosed with AIDS in Malaysia. The ecosystem is trying to hide his disease so that the game of conversion can continue by hiding the truth. But confidential medical documents indicate that Zakir Naik has been diagnosed with HIV,” wrote Fatima Khan on platform X.

The post further alleged that there was an attempt to cover up Zakir Naik’s health condition in order to maintain his preaching activities and religious conversions. It even mentioned the existence of “confidential medical documents” indicating that the preacher had tested positive for HIV.

However, the claim was immediately and strongly refuted by Zakir Naik’s lawyer. Citing Malaysiakini.com on September 9, 2025, Akberdin Abdul Kadir stated that the allegation was completely false.

“As I said, it is garbage, fake news, and absolutely untrue,” said Akberdin.

He added that his client is currently abroad.
